Dual Copper Boiler Home Espresso

Bezzera Duo Dual Copper Boilers, Multi-PID, Rotary Pump

The Duo is a dual boiler machine with separate copper boilers for brewing and steam, each under PID control, plus a rotary pump and a choice of E61 lever (MN) or electronic BZ group (DE).

Bezzera has built espresso machines in Milan since 1901. The Duo is built in AISI 304 stainless steel and gives home baristas control that normally belongs on a commercial bar, in a body sized for the kitchen.

  • Dual Copper Boilers
  • Multi-PID
  • Rotary Pump
  • Optional Flow Control
  • 4L Tank or Plumbed
  • Made in Italy

Why the Duo stands out

Dual boilers are only part of the picture. The Duo adds PID control, pre-infusion, automatic backflush and a choice of group, so you can set it up for how you make coffee.

Dual copper boilers

A 0.45L boiler handles brewing and a 1.05L boiler handles steam. Both are insulated, so brew temperature stays stable while full steam power is ready at the same time.

Multi-PID control

Brew and steam temperature are controlled independently. The MN has two PIDs and the DE adds a third on the group itself, so extractions are repeatable.

Rotary pump with pre-infusion

A quiet rotary pump holds steady pressure, and programmable pre-infusion wets the puck gently before full pressure arrives to reduce channelling.

Optional flow control

An E61 flow control device can be added to shape pressure through the shot, for example tapering it for a sweeter finish. It is offered as an option when you choose your variant.

Duo MN or Duo DE

Duo MN uses the classic E61 lever group. You start and stop shots with the lever, and the group is heated by circulating boiler water. It suits traditional, hands-on brewing.

Duo DE uses Bezzera's electronic BZ group with its own heating elements and a dedicated PID. It adds four programmable volumetric shot presets on a touch display, which suits repeatable dosing and group-level temperature control.

Getting the best out of it

A dual boiler gives you control, and the grinder decides whether you can use it. Pair the Duo with one of our home coffee grinders and use freshly roasted coffee beans. Change one thing at a time: grind first, then temperature, then pre-infusion.

Use filtered water to protect both copper boilers and backflush regularly. Weighing it against another dual boiler? The Bezzera Matrix is Bezzera's flagship with illuminated side panels, and the full range is in home coffee machines.

Ordering

Variants are priced by group (MN or DE), panel finish and whether you add flow control, so pick your combination on the product page. Freight to your New Zealand address is calculated at checkout, and our shipping policy explains how delivery works. Cover for new equipment is set out in the returns and warranty policy. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Duo MN and Duo DE?

The Duo MN uses the classic E61 lever group, which you start and stop by hand and which is heated by boiler water. The Duo DE uses Bezzera's electronic BZ group with its own heating and PID, plus four volumetric shot presets on a touch display.

How is the Duo different from the Bezzera Matrix?

Both are dual boiler machines with PID control and a rotary pump. The Duo focuses on prosumer refinement, with dual copper boilers, optional flow control and a choice of E61 lever or BZ volumetric group. The Matrix adds illuminated side panels and is styled as the flagship.

What does flow control do?

Flow control lets you adjust how quickly water reaches the coffee, so you can shape pressure through the shot. It is an optional extra on the Duo, selected when you choose your variant.

Can the Duo be plumbed in?

Yes. The Duo runs from a 4L tank or can be plumbed into a water line, so you can choose whichever suits your kitchen.

Why choose copper boilers?

Copper holds and transfers heat well. On the Duo the boilers are also insulated, which helps keep brew temperature stable while the steam boiler works.

Do I need a separate grinder?

Yes. The Duo is an espresso machine only, so it needs a burr grinder capable of a fine, consistent espresso grind. Our home coffee grinders collection covers suitable options.

What warranty applies?

Cover for new equipment is set out on our returns and warranty policy page. Please read it before ordering so you know what is covered and how claims are handled for New Zealand customers.
