Description

Volumetric Heat Exchanger Home Espresso

Bezzera BZ16 V Volumetric Dosing, E61 Group, Tank-Fed

The BZ16 V is an Italian-made heat exchanger machine with a full E61 group, a 2L boiler and a touchpad that remembers your shot volumes. It runs from an internal water tank, so no plumbing is needed.

Bezzera has built espresso machines in Milan since 1901, when Luigi Bezzera patented the first one. The BZ16 V carries that heritage into the home: a stainless steel body, a 2L heat exchanger boiler and the E61 group that cafes have relied on for decades, with programmable dosing added on top.

  • Volumetric Touchpad
  • 2L Heat Exchanger
  • E61 Group
  • Vibration Pump
  • Tank-Fed
  • Made in Italy

Why the BZ16 V suits home baristas

Volumetric dosing and an E61 group are usually found on machines that need to be plumbed in. The BZ16 V gives you both while running from a tank.

Programmable volumetric touchpad

Set the volume you want for each shot once, and the machine repeats it at the touch of a button. Every espresso or ristretto comes out the same, whoever pulls it.

2L heat exchanger boiler

A heat exchanger lets you pull a shot and steam milk at the same time. The 2L boiler gives enough steam for flat whites, lattes and cappuccinos made back to back.

E61 group head

The E61 is the group most cafe machines are built around. It heats up as water circulates through it, which keeps temperature consistent and extraction even.

Vibration pump, no plumbing

The vibration pump draws from the internal tank, so the machine can sit on any bench with a power point. You do not need a water line or drain.

Who it suits

  • Home baristas who want repeatable shots without weighing every one
  • Households where several people make coffee and need the same result
  • Milk coffee drinkers who want to brew and steam at once
  • Anyone who wants E61 build quality without arranging a plumbed install

Setup note: the BZ16 V is tank-fed, so you only need bench space and a standard earthed power point. Power, tank capacity, dimensions and weight are not listed here. Call 09 9779924 and we will confirm them for your setup before you order.

Getting the best out of it

Volumetric dosing repeats the volume, not the grind, so a consistent burr grinder matters. The BZ16 V has no built-in grinder, so pair it with one of our home coffee grinders and use freshly roasted coffee beans.

Use filtered water to limit scale in the boiler, and refill the tank before it runs low. Prefer a plumbed machine with a quieter rotary pump? The Bezzera BZ16 R has the same boiler, group and touchpad. Browse the full range in home coffee machines.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the BZ16 V and BZ16 R?

Both share the same 2L heat exchanger boiler, E61 group, volumetric touchpad and stainless steel body. The BZ16 V uses a vibration pump fed from an internal tank, so no plumbing is needed. The BZ16 R uses a quieter rotary pump and is plumbed into a water line.

What does volumetric dosing mean?

Volumetric dosing lets you program shot volumes through the touchpad. The machine then delivers the same volume every time at the touch of a button, which gives consistent espresso and ristretto without watching the shot.

Does the BZ16 V need to be plumbed in?

No. The BZ16 V is the vibration pump version and runs from an internal water tank. It needs a power point and bench space, but no water connection.

Can I brew espresso and steam milk at the same time?

Yes. The BZ16 V has a heat exchanger boiler, so you can pull a shot and steam milk together without switching modes. The 2L boiler gives enough steam for flat whites, lattes and cappuccinos.

Do I need a separate grinder?

Yes. The BZ16 V is an espresso machine only, so it needs a burr grinder capable of a fine, consistent espresso grind. Our home coffee grinders collection covers suitable options.

What warranty applies?
