Description

Plumbed-In Volumetric Heat Exchanger

Bezzera BZ16 R Volumetric Dosing, E61 Group, Rotary Pump

The BZ16 R is the plumbed-in version of Bezzera's volumetric heat exchanger. It pairs a 2L boiler and E61 group with a quiet rotary pump and a touchpad that repeats your shot volumes.

Bezzera has made espresso machines in Milan since 1901. The BZ16 R is built for a permanent spot on the bench: connected to a water line, driven by a rotary pump, and set up so every drink is dosed the same way.

  • Volumetric Touchpad
  • 2L Heat Exchanger
  • E61 Group
  • Rotary Pump
  • Plumbed-In
  • Made in Italy

Why choose the BZ16 R

Rotary pumps and a mains connection are what cafe machines use, and the BZ16 R brings both to a home-sized body.

Rotary pump

A rotary pump runs far more quietly than a vibration pump and holds steady pressure through the shot. It suits open-plan kitchens and busier households.

Plumbed-in convenience

Connected to mains water, the machine never needs its tank refilled. Back-to-back drinks are not interrupted by a low-water warning.

Programmable volumetric touchpad

Program your shot volumes once and repeat them with a button. It takes guesswork out of dosing and keeps espresso and ristretto consistent.

2L HX boiler and E61 group

The heat exchanger brews and steams at the same time, and the E61 group keeps brew temperature even from the first shot to the last.

Who it suits

  • Permanent home bar setups with a water line nearby
  • Offices, studios and small venues that want light-duty cafe performance
  • Households that value a quiet machine
  • Baristas who want set-and-repeat shot volumes

Setup note: the BZ16 R needs a mains water connection, so plan the position of the machine near a water line and a standard earthed power point. A licensed plumber should make the connection. Power, tank capacity, dimensions and weight are not listed here. Call 09 9779924 and we will confirm them for your setup before you order.

Getting the best out of it

A plumbed machine with volumetric dosing deserves a grinder that keeps up. Pair the BZ16 R with one of our home coffee grinders and use freshly roasted coffee beans. Dial in the grind first, then set your shot volumes on the touchpad.

Fit a water filter on the supply line to limit scale in the boiler. If you would rather not connect it to water, the Bezzera BZ16 V has the same boiler, group and touchpad on a tank-fed vibration pump. See the full range in home coffee machines.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the BZ16 R and BZ16 V?

Both share the same 2L heat exchanger boiler, E61 group, volumetric touchpad and stainless steel body. The BZ16 R uses a quieter rotary pump and is plumbed into a water line. The BZ16 V uses a vibration pump fed from an internal tank.

Does the BZ16 R need to be plumbed in?

Yes. The BZ16 R is the plumbed-in version and needs a mains water connection. If you want a machine that runs from a tank, choose the BZ16 V.

Why choose a rotary pump?

A rotary pump runs more quietly than a vibration pump and holds steady pressure through the shot. It is the type used on cafe machines, which suits a permanent or busier setup.

What does volumetric dosing do?

You program shot volumes through the touchpad, and the machine delivers the same volume every time at the touch of a button. That keeps espresso and ristretto consistent across every cup.

Can I brew and steam at the same time?

Yes. The BZ16 R has a heat exchanger boiler, so you can pull a shot and steam milk together. The 2L boiler handles flat whites, lattes and cappuccinos made one after another.

Do I need a separate grinder?

Yes. The BZ16 R is an espresso machine only, so it needs a burr grinder capable of a fine, consistent espresso grind. Our home coffee grinders collection covers suitable options.

What warranty applies?
