Why a dedicated pitcher matters

The jug you steam and pour from has a real effect on the result, independent of how good your espresso machine or grinder is. A well-shaped spout and the right size for the drink you're making are what separate a clean pour from a messy one.

Choosing a size

• 150ml — single flat whites or cortados, or fine detail practice
• 350ml — the standard size for most single-cup home use
• 600ml — better for lattes, cappuccinos, or steaming for two drinks at once
• 1000ml (1L) — higher-volume use, larger drinks, or small commercial settings
• 4-pack bundle — all four sizes together, useful for a home setup covering every drink size or a small café stocking up in one order

Getting the best out of it

Match the jug size to what you're actually pouring — a jug that's too large for the drink makes it harder to judge your milk level and texture consistently. Pair it with one of our home coffee machines for a complete setup, and if you're new to steaming, a smaller jug is generally easier to learn precise pours on than a large one.

Rinse the jug straight after use so milk residue doesn't dry and bake onto the interior — that build-up is what eventually dulls a stainless finish and makes the spout harder to keep clean. Once you're comfortable steaming, practising your pour technique on a smaller jug first tends to translate more easily to the larger sizes than the other way around, since the smaller volume forces more precise control of the wrist and pour angle.
