Mazzer Mini G Compact 64mm Grind-by-Weight Grinder
The iconic Mazzer Mini, reimagined with professional grind-by-weight technology — ±0.1g dosing accuracy and 64mm flat burrs in a compact, counter-friendly footprint.
Built for serious home baristas and small cafés who demand repeatable dosing, the Mazzer Mini G is the evolution of one of the world's most trusted home and light-commercial grinders. Where the original Mini delivered reliable on-demand grinding, the Mini G adds a built-in precision scale, automatic dose adjustment, and a vibration-filtering algorithm — all in the same compact die-cast aluminium body. The result is consistent, repeatable doses every shot, without manual weighing or constant recalibration.
Official overview — Mazzer Mini G Compact · reviewed & stocked by Di Pacci
The Mini G eliminates the most common source of inconsistency in home espresso: inaccurate dosing. Its professional built-in load-cell scale reads to the hundredth of a gram, and the grinder automatically compensates for changes in grind setting — so you never have to re-weigh after dialling in. The vibration-filtering algorithm keeps doses accurate even on busy benchtops, while the antistatic system delivers grounds uniformly into the basket or dosing cup for a clean counter. By grinding exactly what you use, it minimises coffee waste session after session.
⚖️ Grind by Weight — ±0.1g
A built-in professional scale with hundredth-of-a-gram resolution, with the actual weight displayed live for full dosing control every extraction.
🔄 Automatic Dose Adjustment
Change your grind setting without re-programming your dose — the grinder auto-adjusts and delivers the correct weight regardless of grind coarseness.
📳 Vibration-Filtering Algorithm
Delivers stable, accurate doses even with counter vibrations — ideal for busy kitchens where adjacent appliances are running.
🤲 Hands-Free Portafilter Activation
Rest your portafilter or dosing cup and the grinder starts automatically — no buttons, no holding, just place and grind.
⚡ Fast, Powerful Motor
A 350W asynchronous motor at 1,400 RPM (50Hz) delivers 2–2.5g/s — fast enough for volume, quiet enough for home use.
🧲 Magnetic Dosing Cup
A self-aligning magnetic stainless steel dosing cup holds up to 30g, fits ø58mm portafilters, and is included as standard.

Three Core Modes — Powerful Underneath
The Mini G's TFT display puts everything you need front and centre without complexity. Here's how the three core modes work.
01Grind by Weight Mode
Set your target dose in grams (to the hundredth) and the grinder runs until the scale confirms your exact weight. Automatic dose adjustment compensates for any grind-setting change — no manual re-programming after dialling in.
Recommended for Espresso
02Grind by Time Mode
Three programmable time-based doses, accurate to the hundredth of a second. Ideal as a backup mode or for brewing methods where weight accuracy matters less. Easily toggled from the main display.
Pour Over / Batch Brew
03Manual Mode
Continuous grinding with live weight display and full manual control — hold to grind, release to stop. Useful for dialling in a new coffee or for high-volume moments where speed matters most.

The Mazzer Mini G Is Perfect For
☕ Home Espresso Enthusiasts
Pulling shots daily and want dose-to-dose consistency without standing over a scale? The Mini G removes that variable entirely. Pair it with a Lelit Bianca, ECM Synchronika or Rocket Appartamento for a genuine prosumer setup.
🏪 Small Café or Pop-Up Bar
The compact footprint (160mm wide) and fast grind speed make it viable for small café counters, pop-ups and events — it handles volume without sacrificing accuracy. Just keep the hopper stocked.
🔬 Dial-In Focused Baristas
The live weight display and auto-adjustment make recipe development faster — change your grind and the grinder recalculates the dose automatically. Fewer wasted pucks, more time tasting what you've changed.
🌱 Light-Roast & Single-Origin Lovers
Add the optional k202P burrs to unlock sweet, delicate extractions suited to light roasts and single-origin espresso — a seriously capable specialty grinder with one burr swap.
Mazzer Mini G — Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between grind by weight and grind by time?
Grind by time dispenses grounds for a set number of seconds — but since coffee density changes with roast level, humidity and hopper fill, the actual dose weight can drift. Grind by weight uses a built-in scale to stop precisely when the target weight is reached, regardless of those variables. For espresso, where a 1–2g difference can shift extraction significantly, it's meaningfully more consistent. The Mini G uses grind by weight as its primary mode, with grind by time available as an alternative.
Does the Mini G work with all espresso machines?
Yes — it's compatible with standard ø58mm portafilters, which covers the vast majority of home and commercial machines including La Marzocco, ECM, Rocket, Lelit, Rancilio, Nuova Simonelli and most others. The adjustable portafilter holder centres the grind flow into the basket, and the included dosing cup is also ø58mm. If you're unsure about a specific machine, our team can advise before you buy.
Is the Mini G a home grinder or more commercial?
Mazzer describes it as a "compact light-commercial grinder" — in practice, overbuilt for home use in the best way. Its die-cast aluminium body, 350W asynchronous motor and 64mm steel flat burrs are designed for daily professional use, so at home (1–4 doses a day) it will outlast you considerably. The 160mm-wide footprint fits most kitchen benches. For a serious home espresso setup, it's an excellent match — not overkill.
How noisy is the Mini G?
It uses an asynchronous motor at 1,400 RPM, quieter than high-RPM grinders but not silent — flat burr grinders at this level produce a characteristic grinding sound. At 2–2.5g/s, a typical 18g espresso dose takes roughly 7–9 seconds, so the cycle is short. Most users find the noise acceptable at home, and it's considerably quieter than many commercial stepless grinders with comparable burr quality. If noise is a primary concern, chat to our team first.
Can I use the Mini G for filter coffee as well as espresso?
The stepless micrometrical adjustment covers a wide range of grind settings, and many users do brew filter with it. That said, the portafilter activation and dosing cup are optimised for espresso workflow. If you primarily brew filter (V60, Chemex, AeroPress) and occasionally pull espresso, it will work — but a dedicated filter-to-espresso grinder might be a better all-rounder. Di Pacci stocks grinders suited specifically to filter or multi-method brewing if you'd like a recommendation.
