Di Pacci — Needle-Valve Flow Control Single Group Commercial Espresso Machine

Slayer Espresso V4 1 Group Coffee Machine

The Slayer Espresso V4 1 Group is Seattle's hand-built single-group machine, and this brand-new unit is available now rather than on a factory lead time.

The Slayer Espresso V4 1 Group is built around Slayer's patented needle valve, which adds a restricted-flow pre-brew stage before full pressure. It pairs a PID-controlled 1.1 litre brew boiler with a separate 3.3 litre steam boiler, a rotary vane pump and a commercial group rated for a million cycles, all on a 220–240 V, 10 amp supply.

This machine was ordered for a customer and never delivered, so it's brand new and unused. It suits specialty cafes, restaurants, bars and offices that want Slayer's control in a compact footprint, and home baristas who want a true commercial machine. If you'd rather a one-off finish, ask about our custom gloss white Slayer.

Key Features of the Slayer V4 1 Group

🎛️ Needle-valve pre-brew

A three-position actuator moves from restricted-flow pre-brew to full pressure, so you can steer sweetness and body.

🔥 Independent boilers

The 1.1 L PID brew boiler is separate from the 3.3 L steam boiler, so milk service doesn't upset brew temperature.

🔄 Rotary pump

A commercial rotary vane pump reaches pressure quickly and can feed from a reservoir or mains.

🪞 Shot mirror

Watch the puck and flow without bending down to the drip tray.

🏗️ Commercial group

A grouphead rated for a million cycles, built for years of daily service.

📐 Compact footprint

About 470 mm wide, so it fits counters where a two-group won't.

How Slayer's Needle Valve Changes the Shot

A standard machine is either off or at full pump pressure. The Slayer adds a restricted-flow stage, controlled by a needle valve in the group.

  • Pull the actuator to pre-brew and water enters the puck slowly at low flow.
  • Hold as long as the coffee needs, which lets you grind finer without choking the shot.
  • Move to full for extraction, then back to stop.

Finer grinding with a gentle start gives fuller, sweeter espresso, and baristas can adjust the profile shot by shot without menus.

Slayer 1 Group vs La Marzocco GS3 MP

Two premium single-group machines with different approaches to control.

Feature Slayer V4 1 Group La Marzocco GS3 MP
Flow control Needle valve, 3-position actuator Mechanical paddle, conical valve
Brew boiler 1.1 L, PID 1.5 L, PID
Steam boiler 3.3 L 3.5 L
Group Commercial grouphead Saturated group
Character Low-flow pre-brew, finer grind Pressure profiling by paddle

Di Pacci recommendation: Choose the Slayer if you want its signature pre-brew and commercial build in a single group. Don't bother if your venue does more than a steady trickle of coffees at peak — a two-group commercial machine will keep up better.

Slayer Espresso V4 1 Group — Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Slayer Espresso V4 1 Group brand new?

Yes. It was ordered for a customer and never delivered, so it is brand new and unused, with a 12 month parts and labour warranty through Di Pacci.

What power does the Slayer 1 Group need?

The 220 to 240 volt version draws 10 amps and 2.1 to 2.4 kW, so it runs on a standard 10 amp outlet. Call (02) 9758 0760 to check your site.

Is the Slayer 1 Group good for a cafe?

Yes for specialty cafes, bars and restaurants with moderate volume. For a busy cafe with long peak queues, a two-group machine is the better choice.

Does the Slayer need to be plumbed in?

It can run from a reservoir with its rotary pump and removable drip tray, or be plumbed to mains water. We install commercial machines free in the Sydney metro area.

What does the Slayer needle valve do?

It restricts flow during pre-brew so you can grind finer and start extraction gently before full pressure.

Can I use the Slayer V4 at home?

Yes, if you have a 10 amp outlet and room for a 470 mm wide, 580 mm deep machine. It is a commercial machine, so expect commercial build and size.
