Where a heat-exchanger machine shares one boiler, the R58's two independent boilers (a 0.58 litre coffee boiler and a 1.7 litre steam boiler) let you dial in brew temperature and steam power separately for repeatable results and creamier microfoam. Add a commercial-grade rotary pump you can fine-tune manually, an integrated shot timer, and an ECO mode that powers the heaters down after inactivity, and you have a serious home espresso setup.
