Description

Precision — On-Demand Espresso Grinder

Precision GSP — 60 mm Flat Burrs, Push To Grind

The GSP is the simplest grinder in the Precision range and, for a lot of home setups, the most sensible. One push button, 60 mm flat burrs, and a cast aluminium alloy body — you decide when the grinding starts and when it stops.

Precision is Di Pacci's own equipment range, built to put real burr geometry into home kitchens without the price tag that usually comes attached. The GSP is the on-demand model: there is no doser chamber holding stale grounds and no timer to program. You hold the button, coffee comes out, you let go. That sounds basic, and it is, but it means nothing sits between the burrs and your basket, and there is very little to go wrong over years of daily use.

The burrs are the part that matters. At 60 mm flat, they are considerably larger than the 40 mm-class burrs typical at this end of the market, and flat geometry produces a tighter particle distribution than a small conical set. That translates directly into espresso that is easier to dial in and more repeatable shot to shot. The 200 W motor drives them without labouring, and the cast aluminium alloy body gives the machine enough mass that it does not walk across the bench while grinding.

What you get for the money

Flat burrs at an entry price

60 mm flat burrs are usually found on grinders costing considerably more. Larger flat burrs cut more uniformly than small conicals, which is what makes espresso predictable rather than a guessing game.

Nothing to program

A single push button controls everything. Grind into the portafilter, watch the dose, stop when you are there. No timers to recalibrate when you change beans or adjust the grind.

Built with some weight to it

A cast aluminium alloy body and 5.5 kg of mass keep it planted, and the non-slip suction feet stop it creeping forward under load. Cheaper plastic-bodied grinders vibrate and wander.

Two hopper sizes

Listed with a 250 g and a 750 g hopper. The smaller one suits a home bench and keeps beans fresher; the larger suits an office or a household getting through volume.

Who it suits

  • First-time grinder buyers moving off pre-ground or a blade grinder
  • Home baristas who would rather control the dose by eye than trust a timer
  • Anyone pairing a grinder with an entry or mid-range espresso machine
  • Offices and shared kitchens where simple operation matters more than features
  • Buyers who want flat burrs specifically, without stepping up in price

Getting the best out of it

A push-to-grind machine rewards a scale more than a timer ever would. Weigh your dose in the basket rather than counting seconds, and you will get consistency straight away. Expect some grounds retention in the chute — that is normal for on-demand grinders at every price point, and a quick tap or a puff of air clears it between doses.

Keep the burrs clean. Coffee oils build up and dull the cut over months, which shows up as a shot that will not dial in no matter what you do. A grinder cleaner run through every few weeks handles it. Pair the GSP with fresh coffee beans — a good grinder cannot rescue stale coffee — and see the rest of the Precision range if you are building out a full setup. If you are still choosing a machine to go with it, the home espresso machine collection is the place to start, and the wider home grinder range shows what stepping up buys you.

Frequently asked questions

How does the GSP differ from the GS7?

Both use the same 60 mm flat espresso burrs and a 200 W motor. The GSP is operated by a single push button where you start and stop the grind yourself. The GS7 adds an electronic touchpad that lets you program a single or double dose, with a manual grind option still available.

Is the GSP suitable for espresso specifically?

Yes. It is fitted with 60 mm flat burrs described as espresso burrs, and the adjustment range is set up for the fine end. It can be taken coarser for other brew methods, but it is built with espresso as the primary use.

What size hopper does it come with?

The listing specifies a 250 g and a 750 g hopper. If you need confirmation of which hopper ships with a particular unit, contact us on 09 9779924 before ordering.

How much bench space does it need?

The GSP measures 220 mm wide, 140 mm deep and 470 mm high, and weighs 5.5 kg. The height figure is the one to check — allow clearance above 470 mm so you can lift the hopper lid and fill it without moving the grinder.

Does it retain grounds between doses?

Some retention in the chute is normal for on-demand grinders at any price. If you single dose or switch between coffees often, tap the chute or use a puff of air to clear it, and consider weighing your dose out rather than relying on what the grinder delivers.

What warranty applies to this grinder?

Cover terms are set out in full on our returns and warranty policy page. If you want the specifics confirmed for this model before ordering, call 09 9779924 or use the contact page.
