Precision — Programmable Espresso Grinder

Precision GS7 — 60 mm Flat Burrs, Touchpad Dosing

The GS7 takes the same 60 mm flat burr set as the GSP and adds an electronic touchpad, so you can set a single and a double dose and have the grinder deliver them repeatably. Manual grind stays available whenever you want to take over.

Programmable dosing is the feature that separates a grinder you fight with from one that fits into a morning routine. Set the double dose once, and every subsequent shot starts from the same weight of coffee in the basket. That removes one of the two variables in espresso — dose and grind — which makes the other far easier to chase. The GS7 gives you two programmed positions plus a manual option, and the touchpad reads clearly enough to adjust without hunting through menus.

Underneath, it is the same well-specified platform as the rest of the range: 60 mm flat espresso burrs driven by a 200 W motor, with stepless grind adjustment. Stepless matters more than most buyers realise. Grinders with fixed click steps can leave you stranded between two settings, one too fast and one too slow. A stepless collar lets you stop wherever the shot actually wants to be, which is the whole point of dialling in.

What the GS7 adds

Single and double dose presets

Programme both, then grind by pressing once. Consistent dosing is the fastest route to consistent espresso, and it means anyone else in the house can pull a shot without learning your technique.

Stepless grind adjustment

No fixed clicks to get trapped between. You can make adjustments as fine as the shot needs, which matters when moving between light and dark roasts or chasing a specific extraction.

Manual override

The programmed doses do not lock you in. Switch to manual grind whenever you want to top up a basket, purge after a bean change, or grind for a different brew method.

60 mm flat burrs

Larger flat burrs cut more uniformly than the small conical sets common at entry level. Uniform particles extract evenly, which is what produces a clean, repeatable shot rather than a muddled one.

Who it suits

  • Home baristas who pull the same drink most mornings and want it repeatable
  • Households where more than one person makes coffee
  • Anyone upgrading from a grinder with fixed step adjustment
  • Buyers who want programmable dosing without moving into prosumer pricing
  • Offices where a preset dose keeps things simple for occasional users

Getting the best out of it

Programme the dose by weight, not by eye. Put your basket on a scale, run the grinder, and adjust the preset until it lands where you want it — then leave it alone. Re-check it when you change beans, since different roasts and densities flow differently through the same burr gap, but otherwise the setting should hold.

Clean the burrs regularly. Oils from darker roasts build up faster than most people expect and gradually change how the grinder behaves, which gets misdiagnosed as a bad bag of coffee. Pair the GS7 with fresh coffee beans, and browse the rest of the Precision range for tampers and dosing tools that match. If the machine side of your setup is still open, start with the home espresso machines collection, or compare against the wider home grinder range.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the GS7 and the GSP?

They share the same 60 mm flat espresso burrs and 200 W motor. The GSP uses a single push button where you start and stop the grind manually. The GS7 adds an electronic touchpad with programmable single and double doses, while keeping a manual grind option.

What does stepless grind adjustment mean?

Stepless means the burr gap moves continuously rather than in fixed clicks. You can settle on any point in the range instead of being forced to choose between two preset positions, which is useful for espresso where very small changes in grind make a visible difference to the shot.

Can I still grind manually if I have set the doses?

Yes. The programmed single and double doses do not disable manual operation. You can switch to a manual grind at any time to top up a basket, purge after changing beans, or grind for a different brew method.

Does it work for filter or plunger coffee as well as espresso?

The GS7 is fitted with espresso burrs and its adjustment range is set up for the fine end, so espresso is what it does best. It can be taken coarser, but if filter and plunger are your main brew methods a grinder built with filter burrs will suit you better.

How much bench space does it need?

The dimensions given on this listing are 110 mm wide, 245 mm deep and 470 mm high. Allow clearance above the 470 mm height so the hopper lid can be lifted and filled in place. If exact width matters for your bench, confirm it with us on 09 9779924 before ordering.

What warranty applies to this grinder?

Cover terms are set out in full on our returns and warranty policy page. If you want the specifics confirmed for this model before ordering, call 09 9779924 or use the contact page.
