Getting the best out of it

Programme the dose by weight, not by eye. Put your basket on a scale, run the grinder, and adjust the preset until it lands where you want it — then leave it alone. Re-check it when you change beans, since different roasts and densities flow differently through the same burr gap, but otherwise the setting should hold.

Clean the burrs regularly. Oils from darker roasts build up faster than most people expect and gradually change how the grinder behaves, which gets misdiagnosed as a bad bag of coffee.
