Good Grinder still a bit of static.

when I received the grinder, i was a bit dubious because there was grinds all through the internals. Di Pacci responded very promptly to say this was duet to their testing. it is good to see that they have since updated the website to explain this. i also noted that the label machine states it is a 150 W motor (not 250 W as was previously advertised, but since updated), and a 60mm Burr (not 80mm as it is still advertised, at the time of writing).

As for the Grind quality. I have found the G30 to give a very consistent, even grind, and do so quickly and quietly. even after over a month, it still has a bit of static, and needs a good hard knock to dislodge any retention. I would defiantly advise using a dosing ring funnel to minimise the "spray" of grinds during use.

This is the perfect grinder for me. I'm a 1 cup a day grinder (2 at weekends), so the lack of residual grinds and small hopper suit my needs. I ordered the unit late of a Friday, notified via sms on Monday it was on its way and was on my doorstep Wednesday (I live in semi rural Qld, 4hrs N of Brisbane. So that is QUICK.) The step-less increments make finding the right grind very easy. Bit of static in the process but I have got around it by using the pressure switch and holding the stainless steel cup for the whole 7-8 seconds it takes to grind my 18g of beans (apparently my coffee roaster says that is very fast!).
Hopper is a bit 'cheap' and didn't sit well in the downshoot so a bit of electrical tape round the neck sorted that out easily. White is not my preferred colour as it shows every grain of coffee..
Motor is very quiet and powerful.
I highly recommend this product and thank the Di Pacci team for sending it so fast and offering this machine for about $150 less than I could find it anywhere else. Will be using them again when I need to.
