Description

Precision — Compact Espresso Grinder

Precision GS2 — 60 mm Flat Burrs, Gloss White

A compact espresso grinder in gloss white, built around the same 60 mm flat burr set as the GSP and GS7 but in a smaller footprint. Micrometric adjustment and two ways to start the grind — front button or rear switch.

The GS2 packs the same 60 mm flat burrs found elsewhere in the Precision line into a noticeably smaller body — 3.5 kg and a 220 × 120 × 360 mm footprint, closer in size to the compact filter models than to the GS7 or GSP. If bench space is tight but you still want flat burr consistency for espresso, this is the model built for that trade-off.

Operation mirrors the compact filter grinders: push the portafilter against the front button for a controlled grind, or flip the rear switch for continuous manual operation. Micrometric adjustment gives you fine control across the range, and a stainless steel cup catches grounds if you are grinding to measure rather than straight into the basket. It ships in gloss white, standing out from the black finish common across the rest of the range.

  • 60 mm Flat Burrs
  • Micrometric Adjustment
  • Compact 3.5 kg Footprint
  • Front Button Or Rear Switch
  • Stainless Grounds Cup
  • Gloss White

Why the compact size matters

Same burrs, smaller body

60 mm flat burrs are the same specification found in the GSP and GS7. The GS2 fits that capability into a considerably smaller footprint for kitchens where space is the limiting factor.

Two grinding controls

Push the front button for controlled dosing, or use the rear switch for continuous manual grinding — the same dual-control layout as the compact filter models, adapted for espresso.

Micrometric fine adjustment

Small, controlled increments rather than fixed clicks, which matters for espresso where a slight change in grind produces a visible change in the shot.

Stainless grounds cup

Included for catching a measured dose before transferring it to the basket, useful if you weigh your coffee rather than grinding directly into the portafilter.

Who it suits

  • Small kitchens where a full-size espresso grinder will not fit comfortably
  • Home baristas who want flat burr consistency without a large footprint
  • Buyers who prefer manual control over programmed dosing
  • A second grinder for anyone already running a larger machine elsewhere
  • Anyone specifically wanting the gloss white finish

Motor power: this listing gives two different figures for motor power. We have left this out of the table rather than state one that may be wrong. If motor power is a deciding factor, call 09 9779924 or use the contact page and we will confirm it against the unit before you order.

Getting the best out of it

Weigh your dose rather than grinding by eye or by time — a scale removes the biggest source of shot-to-shot variation on a manually operated grinder. Some grounds retention in the chute is normal for a grinder this size; a light tap clears it between doses.

Keep the burrs clean, particularly with darker roasts where oil build-up shows up faster. Pair the GS2 with fresh coffee beans, and see the rest of the Precision range for matching accessories. If you are choosing a machine to go with it, start with home coffee machines, or compare against the wider home grinder collection.

Frequently asked questions

How does the GS2 differ from the GSP?

Both use 60 mm flat espresso burrs and micrometric adjustment. The GS2 is noticeably more compact, at 3.5 kg against the GSP's 5.5 kg, and uses a front button plus rear switch rather than a single push button. The GS2 also ships in gloss white where the GSP is available in black or white.

What is the difference between the front button and the rear switch?

The front button grinds while pressed, giving you direct control over a dose as you watch it fill. The rear switch runs the grinder continuously until switched off, which suits grinding a larger amount at once.

Is the GS2 suitable for filter coffee as well as espresso?

It is fitted with 60 mm flat espresso burrs and its adjustment range is set up for the fine end. It can be taken coarser, but if filter and plunger are your main methods, one of the dedicated filter models such as the GS1 or GS3 will suit you better.

How much bench space does it need?

It measures 120 mm wide, 220 mm deep and 360 mm high, and weighs 3.5 kg — a genuinely compact footprint. Allow clearance above the 360 mm height to fill the hopper.

What warranty applies to this grinder?
