Precision Coffee Tools — Dual-Thermoblock Espresso Machine with Programmable Pre-Infusion
Precision Bella V2 Espresso Machine
The Precision Bella V2 gives you real control over brew temperature and pre-infusion without the warm-up time, weight or power draw of a boiler machine.
The Precision Bella V2 runs two separate thermoblocks — one for brewing, one for steam — so it's ready to pull a shot in about five minutes from cold. Brew temperature is set on the touchscreen anywhere from 80 to 102°C, pre-infusion is programmable in two stages, and a front-mounted pressure gauge shows you what's happening during the shot. It takes standard 58mm baskets, so tampers, distributors and precision baskets you already own will fit. It comes in white, silver or black and weighs 13 kg.
Despite the name, the V2 is a different machine from the original Bella, which is an E61 heat-exchanger with a copper boiler. The V2 swaps that architecture for thermoblocks and digital control: you trade the heavy, slow-to-heat boiler for a machine that wakes quickly, draws a maximum of 2,350W from an ordinary household outlet and lets you change temperature by pressing a button rather than waiting for a boiler to settle.

Key Features of the Bella V2
🔥 Separate Brew & Steam Thermoblocks
Each job has its own heater, so you're not waiting for a single boiler to climb from brew temperature to steam temperature before you can texture milk.
🌡️ Brew Temperature You Can Set
Dial in anywhere from 80 to 102°C in the touchscreen — run it cooler for a dark roast that turns bitter, hotter for a light roast that tastes thin and sour.
💧 Two-Stage Pre-Infusion
Program how long water wets the puck (0–10 s) and how long it rests (0–10 s) before full extraction, which evens out flow and makes your shots more forgiving.
⏱️ Programmable Shot Times
Single and double buttons each store their own time between 15 and 120 seconds, and a separate manual button lets you start and stop the shot yourself.
📊 Coffee Pressure Gauge
A front-mounted gauge shows brew pressure in real time, so you can see whether your grind is choking the machine or running too fast before you taste the result.
🧼 Built-In Cleaning Programs
Guided descaling for both thermoblocks, a backflush cycle with the included cleaning disc, and a reminder after 500 uses so maintenance doesn't slip.
Programmable Pre-Infusion, Explained
Most channelling — water punching a fast path through the puck and leaving the rest under-extracted — happens in the first few seconds of a shot, when dry coffee meets full pump pressure. Pre-infusion softens that moment by wetting the coffee first and letting it swell before extraction begins. On the Bella V2 you control both halves of that process from the touchscreen.
-
Stage 1 — wetting (P-1): water flows onto the coffee bed for 0 to 10 seconds. The default is 2 seconds.
-
Stage 2 — rest (P-2): the pump pauses for 0 to 10 seconds while the puck saturates and settles. The default is 2 seconds.
-
Extraction: the machine then runs the rest of your programmed shot time. Pre-infusion counts inside that time, so a longer pre-infusion needs a longer shot setting.
The practical result is a shot that tolerates small inconsistencies in your distribution and tamp, and more room to push finer grinds on light roasts without the shot running away. If you prefer to control everything yourself, the manual button skips pre-infusion entirely.

Our recommendation: Choose the Bella V2 if you want fast warm-up, direct temperature control and adjustable pre-infusion on an ordinary household outlet. Don't bother if you specifically want the feel and thermal mass of a traditional E61 boiler machine, and consider a traditional E61 heat-exchanger or dual-boiler machine instead.
Grinders to Pair with the Bella V2
A machine with adjustable temperature and pre-infusion only pays off if the grinder can make small, repeatable changes. These three all grind fine enough for espresso and adjust in small enough steps to take advantage of the V2's controls.
| Grinder |
Burr |
Why it pairs well |
| Turin DF64 Gen 2.5 |
64mm flat |
Single-dose with very low retention, so each change you make on the V2 is tested on fresh grounds, not the last shot's leftovers |
| Eureka Mignon Specialita |
55mm flat |
Stepless and quiet, with hopper convenience for a household making the same drink every morning |
| Niche Zero |
63mm conical |
Near-zero retention and a fuller-bodied cup that suits milk drinks and medium-to-dark roasts |
Who This Machine Is For
✓ Ideal if you:
- Want to adjust brew temperature for different roasts without a boiler machine's price and weight
- Want to experiment with pre-infusion times from the touchscreen
- Make coffee on weekday mornings and can't wait 20+ minutes for a machine to heat
- Live in a 220–240V, 50Hz country and want a machine that runs from an ordinary kitchen outlet
- Want 58mm accessories so upgrades like precision baskets and distributors fit
✗ Consider alternatives if you:
- Specifically want an E61 group and a traditional boiler — look at a heat-exchanger or dual-boiler machine
- Live in a 110–120V or 60Hz country — the Bella V2 is rated for 220–240V, 50Hz only
- Need a plumbed-in machine — the V2 is tank-fed, with about 1.7L to refill
- Want shots dosed by volume or weight — the V2's programming is time-based
- Keep the machine somewhere that drops below 0°C, such as an unheated holiday house, and can't drain it after each use

- Use beans roasted within the last three months, and keep opened bags sealed, dry and out of sunlight.
- Grind just before brewing — pre-ground coffee oxidises quickly and picks up odours.
- Too fine a grind over-extracts (bitter, slow); too coarse under-extracts (sour, fast). Adjust towards the middle.
- Pull a shot: fill and tamp the basket evenly, lock the portafilter in, put your cup underneath and press single, double or manual. Programmed shots stop by themselves.
Steaming & Milk Frothing
- Purge first: push the steam handle down for about 5 seconds to clear condensed water, then lift it to close.
- Fill a jug with cold milk. Whole milk at around 8°C froths best; skim milk won't foam well.
- Set the wand off-centre towards the 3 o'clock position, with the tip just below the surface. Push the handle down and hold the jug steady.
- A gentle hiss means you're adding air correctly. A sharp screech means the tip is too deep and you're only heating the milk; too shallow and it will splatter.
- Lift the handle to stop at your target temperature. After use, purge for 2–3 seconds and wipe the wand with a damp cloth straight away so milk doesn't bake on.
- Use a jug with a mouth of at least 70mm to avoid splashing, and don't touch the group head or steam tip — both get very hot.
- Steam stops automatically after 5 minutes of continuous use and the display shows E-6. Lift the handle to close it and the machine returns to normal.
Daily Cleaning
- Turn off, unplug and let the machine cool completely first.
- Wipe the outside with a damp cloth or a mild neutral detergent. Never use alcohol or solvents, and never immerse the machine.
- Knock out the puck, then clean the basket with cleaning solution and rinse well.
- Check the steam tip isn't blocked, and brush the group head and its seal with a group brush.
- Wash the accessories in water and let them air-dry.
Descaling & Backflushing
The manual recommends descaling every one to three months, depending on how often you use the machine. Fill the tank to MAX (about 1.7L) with water and descaler at a 4:1 ratio, following the descaler's own instructions. If you don't have descaler, citric acid at 100:3 (water to citric acid) can be used instead.
| Program |
How to run it |
Notes |
| Steam pipeline descaling |
Press the descale button so CLn shows, then push the steam handle down. Hot water and steam run from the wand for 60 seconds, then the machine exits automatically. Close the handle to stop early. |
About 600ml comes out, so use a container that holds more than that. |
| Coffee pipeline backflush |
Put cleaning agent in the cleaning disc, fit the disc in the portafilter and lock it in. Press descale (CLn shows), then press manual. It cycles 8 s on and 4 s off for 60 seconds. Afterwards, remove the disc and press manual to run 120 s of clean water. |
Press manual to stop early. |
| Both at once |
Run the two programs together. |
The manual and descale lights and CLn all flash every second. |
| Rinse |
Wash the tank, fill it with clean water to MAX, and repeat the descaling steps until both thermoblocks run clear. |
Repeat at least 3 times. |
| Descaling reminder |
After 500 combined coffee and steam uses, CLn appears 3 s after brewing (brew thermoblock) or steaming (steam thermoblock). A full descale of that circuit resets the count. Press descale again to exit. |
You can still brew and steam normally while the reminder shows. |
Turning Off & Preventing Freezing
- Turn off at the power switch, then at the wall or unplug the cord.
- Before transport or long storage — and every day if the room can drop below 0°C — drain the brew thermoblock. To do this, remove the tank, press manual in standby until water stops flowing from the group, press manual again, switch off, then refit the tank.
- Frozen water can crack the brew thermoblock, so don't leave the machine full in freezing conditions.
Water Requirements
Use filtered water, or softened water from a treatment device, that meets drinking-water standards — pH and chloride levels matter most. Purified or distilled water must not be used. If you use a water filter, replace it on its own schedule.

Safety Notes
- Children and anyone unfamiliar with the machine should only use it under supervision, and children must not clean it unsupervised.
- Use it only on a flat, stable benchtop away from hot surfaces and open flames. Keep the cord off hot parts and away from the bench edge, and don't run it inside a cabinet.
- Use an earthed socket, fully inserted. Don't plug it into a light-fitting adaptor or overload an extension lead, and pull the plug rather than the cord.
- The group head, steam wand and nozzle get very hot, so hold only the portafilter handle and the anti-scald grip.
- Unplug the machine and let it cool before cleaning or fitting parts, and never immerse it or the plug in water.
- If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by a qualified technician. Use genuine parts only.
- Stop and unplug the machine immediately if you notice unusual noise, smells or overheating, or if it has been dropped. Don't use it outdoors or near flammable materials.
Precision Bella V2 — Frequently Asked Questions
What power supply does the Precision Bella V2 need?
The Bella V2 is rated for 220–240V, 50Hz, and draws 1,950–2,350W. Plug it into an earthed (grounded) outlet that can handle that load. It's best on its own outlet rather than a power board shared with a kettle or toaster. It isn't suitable for 110–120V or 60Hz supplies.
How long does the Bella V2 take to heat up?
About five minutes from cold. The brew thermoblock is hot in roughly a minute, and the group head takes around five minutes in total; the button lights stop flashing when it's ready.
What's the difference between the Bella V2 and the original Precision Bella?
They're different machines. The original Bella is an E61 heat-exchanger with a 1.8L copper boiler; the V2 uses separate brew and steam thermoblocks with digital temperature control from 80 to 102°C and programmable two-stage pre-infusion. The V2 heats up much faster, while the original offers the thermal mass and feel of a traditional E61.
Can I adjust brew temperature and pre-infusion on the Bella V2?
Yes, both are set on the touchscreen. Brew temperature adjusts from 80 to 102°C (default 93°C), and pre-infusion has a wetting stage and a rest stage, each adjustable from 0 to 10 seconds. Pre-infusion works on the single and double buttons, not the manual button.
What water should I use, and how often should I descale?
Use filtered or softened drinking water — not distilled or purified water, which the manufacturer prohibits. Descale every one to three months depending on how often you use the machine and how hard your water is; the V2 also shows a CLn reminder after 500 brew and steam cycles.
Why has my Bella V2 stopped steaming and shown E-6?
E-6 appears when steam has run continuously for five minutes, which is the machine's safety limit, or when the steam lever isn't fully closed. Push the steam lever back up and it returns to normal; if E-6 persists with the lever closed, contact your retailer or an authorised service agent.
What colours does the Bella V2 come in, and how heavy is it?
The Bella V2 comes in white, silver or black. The machine weighs 13 kg, or 17 kg packed, and ships in a 40cm deep, 22cm wide, 37cm high carton. The machine itself is slightly smaller than the carton, so check your bench clearance and make sure the top-fill tank lid can open beneath any overhead cupboards.
Which grinder should I pair with the Bella V2?
Any grinder that adjusts finely enough for espresso. The Turin DF64 Gen 2.5, Eureka Mignon Specialita and Niche Zero all suit it well. Choose based on your budget, whether you single-dose, and whether you drink mostly espresso or milk drinks.
