Second Hand Titus Grinding EK43 Volumetric Dosing Tool

The Titus Grinding EK43 is a volumetric dosing tool. Precisely milled spacer rings sit inside a cylinder to create a fixed volume, which slides back and forth between the aperture of an EK43 grinder and the bottom of a hopper or funnel.

In testing with a full hopper, the Titus unit was accurate to within +/- 2 coffee beans, around +/- 0.2g, which is more accurate than the normal grinding variance of the EK43. Accuracy depends on how evenly the beans are screened, so single origins are more accurate than blends or unevenly screened beans.

It is not a substitute for a scale in ultra-sensitive brewing, but it is well suited to a high-volume operation and saves significant time compared with pre-weighing doses.
