Hario V60 Ceramic Dripper 01 — Red

The Hario V60 is one of the most recognised pour-over brewers in the world, and the ceramic version is prized for its heat retention. This size 01 model in red is sized for one to two cups, making it ideal for solo brewers and small households.

The V60 takes its name from its shape: a cone with a 60-degree angle. Inside, tall spiral ribs run from top to bottom and a single large hole sits at the base. Together they let you control the flow and extraction by changing how you pour, so the brew is shaped by your technique rather than the dripper alone.

Ceramic is the pick for anyone chasing temperature stability. It warms up with a quick rinse of hot water and then holds that heat through the pour, helping keep extraction even from first drip to last. Brew directly onto your favourite cup, mug or server.

Heat-Retaining Ceramic

Ceramic holds temperature well once pre-warmed, supporting a stable, even extraction through the whole pour.

Cone & Spiral Design

The 60-degree cone and tall spiral ribs let water flow freely, so your pour rate drives the extraction.

Single Large Hole

One large opening at the base gives you room to speed up or slow down the brew by adjusting your pour.

Brews Straight Into Your Cup

Sits neatly on a cup, mug or server, so you can brew a single serve with no extra glassware.

Spec note: This is the size 01 ceramic V60, which Hario rates at 1-2 cups. (The larger 1-4 cup rating belongs to the size 02 dripper.) The correct Hario product code for this red ceramic 01 model is VDC-01R.

How to brew with the V60 01

Fold a size 01 paper filter along its seam and seat it in the cone. Rinse it with hot water to remove any paper taste and to pre-heat the ceramic, then discard the rinse water. Add medium-ground coffee, pour a little water to let the grounds bloom, then pour in slow, steady circles from the centre outward. A gooseneck kettle makes the pour easier to control.

Frequently asked questions

How many cups does the V60 size 01 make?

The size 01 ceramic V60 is rated for 1-2 cups. If you regularly brew for more people, the larger size 02 (rated 1-4 cups) is the better fit.

Which paper filters does it use?

It uses Hario V60 size 01 paper filters. Make sure you buy 01 filters rather than 02, as the larger filters will not sit correctly in this cone.

Why choose ceramic over plastic or glass?

Ceramic retains heat well once pre-warmed, which helps keep the brew temperature stable through the pour. Give it a quick rinse with hot water before brewing to warm it up.

Do I need a gooseneck kettle?

You do not strictly need one, but a gooseneck kettle gives you much finer control over pour speed and placement, which is where the V60 rewards good technique.

What is included?

The dripper comes with a Hario measuring spoon. Paper filters are sold separately.

Does it come assembled and ready to use?

Yes. Rinse the dripper and a paper filter with hot water first, then add coffee and brew straight onto your cup, mug or server.
