The Flair Classic Single is a fully manual lever machine with a minimalist design — just the parts you need to pull a great shot — making it one of the most affordable and approachable ways into manual espresso, for beginners and enthusiasts alike.

The workflow is simple: remove the stainless steel portafilter and preheat it with hot water, add and tamp your ground coffee, pour in hot water, and press the lever to extract a rich double shot. Built from high-quality stainless steel and premium aluminium with no electronics to break or fail, it's easy to use, easy to clean and easy to pull apart — and it comes with its own carry case, so it travels as happily as it lives on the bench.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Classic Single good for beginners?

Yes. Its minimalist, no-electronics design makes it one of the most approachable ways into manual espresso — simple to learn, use and clean, at an accessible price.

Does it need electricity?

No. It's a fully manual lever machine with no pump or electronics, so you can brew anywhere, including off-grid. You'll just need hot water to preheat and brew.

How do I pull a shot?

Remove the stainless steel portafilter and preheat it with hot water, add and tamp your ground coffee, pour hot water into the portafilter, then press the lever to extract a rich double shot.

How does it compare to the NEO Flex and the 58 range?

The Classic Single is the pared-back, entry-level Flair. The NEO Flex adds two portafilters for more flexibility, while the Signature and 58 families step up to larger capacities, pressure gauges and (on the 58 range) a 58mm portafilter with preheat control. Contact our team if you'd like help choosing.

Do I need a grinder to go with it?

Yes — like any espresso maker, the Classic Single needs freshly ground coffee at an espresso grind. Pair it with a quality hand or electric grinder capable of fine, consistent espresso grinding.

How often should I replace the shower screen?

For best results, the shower screen is best replaced around every three months. Contact our team on 09 9779924 or support@dipacci.co.nz to source a replacement.
