The Eureka Mignon Automatic Tamper removes that variable: seat the portafilter, and the station tamps level and consistent every time. Why an automatic tamper matters

Eureka has built grinders and barista tools in Florence for decades. This tamper is aimed at the same goal as a good grinder — removing the small inconsistencies that show up in the cup.

Repeatable, level tamp

Every tamp is delivered at the same pressure and perfectly level, so uneven or too-hard tamping stops being a source of channelling and inconsistent extraction. It removes the part where your arm decides how hard today's shot gets pressed.

Fast, hands-free cycle

The tamp cycle takes about 0.9 seconds in single mode and 1.4 seconds in sequential double mode, so it keeps pace on a busy bench without slowing down the workflow.

Supplied with a 58mm tamping disk, with optional 53mm, 54.3mm, 57.3mm and 58.3mm disks available separately. Fork height adjusts from 39 to 60.6mm to take single, double and naked portafilters.

Getting the best out of it

Consistent tamping only helps if the dose and grind ahead of it are consistent too, so pair the tamper with a quality burr grinder — it's a natural companion to Eureka's own Mignon range and others in our coffee grinders for home selection. Wipe the tamping disk down regularly and remove it periodically for a proper clean to keep tamps even.
