ECM Compact HX-2 PID Coffee Machine

The ECM Compact HX-2 PID puts two groups, a 9 litre insulated stainless boiler and PID control into a 650 mm wide stainless steel body for cafés short on bench space.

The ECM Compact HX-2 PID is a two-group heat-exchanger machine from ECM Manufacture in Germany. It has an insulated stainless steel boiler of about 9 litres with PID temperature control, a built-in rotary pump adjustable from underneath, and three programmable dose buttons plus a manual button on each group.

It's 650 mm wide and 510 mm deep, so it fits small cafés, offices and restaurants where a full-size 2 group won't. You also get switchable electronic pre-infusion, an automatic group cleaning program and dual pump and boiler gauges. It needs a commercial electrical connection and takes 25 to 30 minutes to heat up, so it's built to be left on through the day rather than switched on for a single coffee.
