Getting the most out of a filtration system is mostly about timing. Change the cartridge when its rated capacity is reached or at the 12 month mark, whichever comes first, rather than waiting for a change in taste. Keep a note of the install date on the bracket itself so you are not relying on memory, and flush a new cartridge briefly before it goes into service.
