Why it has the reputation it does

Planning your setup

A commercial machine is only as good as what feeds it. Pair it with a quality commercial grinder, use fresh coffee beans, run filtered water through the boiler, and build a simple daily cleaning routine from day one. These basics do more for cup quality and machine longevity than almost anything else.

Why buy machine and grinder together

Matching a machine and grinder yourself means researching compatible burr sizes, dosing styles and footprints separately, then hoping they sit well together on the bench. This package removes that guesswork: the Bellona and the Piccola are sold as a pair precisely because they are sized and specced to work together, from the grinder dosing straight into the portafilter to both units sharing the same finish options. For a first home or small office setup, that is one decision made instead of two. It also means you are not left guessing whether a third-party grinder will actually keep up with a dual boiler machine during back-to-back cups.

Who it suits

• Buyers setting up a home or office coffee station from scratch
• Anyone wanting a matched machine and grinder in one order
• Those who prefer volumetric dosing with a manual override

Caring for your machine

A commercial or home espresso machine rewards a bit of routine care. Backflush the group head with a proper cleaning detergent on a regular schedule, wipe down the steam wand after every milk-based drink before it dries on, and keep the drip tray and water tank clean. Descale on the schedule your water hardness calls for, not just when you notice a problem. These few habits do more to extend a machine's working life than any single upgrade.

Getting the best out of it

Filtered water protects the boiler and keeps scale out of the group head, so a proper water treatment setup is worth budgeting for alongside the machine itself. Dial in your grinder to the bean and adjust daily as beans age. If you are still choosing a grinder to run alongside this machine, our commercial coffee grinders range covers single and multi-dose options.
