A genuinely compact heat-exchanger machine just 25cm wide, with digital PID, a shot timer and electronic volumetric dosing — proof that a small footprint doesn't have to mean giving up control.

The Nini DE is Bezzera's answer to the small kitchen. At only 250mm wide it slots into benches where a full-size prosumer machine simply won't fit, yet it carries a 1.5-litre copper heat exchanger for simultaneous brewing and steaming, digital PID temperature control and four programmable volumetric shot volumes. It's hand-built in Milan, and it behaves like a serious machine that happens to be small.

What sets the Nini DE apart

Bezzera has built espresso machines in Milan since 1901. The Nini DE takes the features enthusiasts want — HX brewing, PID and volumetric control — and fits them into one of the smallest footprints in the class, hand-built to the same standard as the larger range.

Compact 25cm footprint

At just 250mm wide the Nini DE fits benches that can't take a full-size machine, without dropping to a starter-level spec. It's the machine for a serious cup where space is tight.

1.5L heat exchanger

The copper HX boiler heats brew water on demand while holding steam pressure, so you can pull espresso and steam milk together — a capability most machines this compact don't offer.

Digital PID with shot timer

PID locks brew temperature to a set point and the integrated shot timer lets you dial recipes to the second, so once you've found a shot you like you can repeat it precisely.

Volumetric dosing

Four programmable shot volumes plus a manual option mean the machine pours your set amount automatically. An externally adjustable pump pressure (OPV) lets you fine-tune the pour without opening the case.

Setup note: the Nini DE runs from its 3-litre tank on a standard 10-amp power point, so no plumbing is required. Use filtered water in the tank and keep to a descaling routine — with a compact HX boiler, clean water is what keeps it performing.

Getting the best out of it

Since you fill the tank yourself, water quality is entirely in your control — use filtered or appropriately treated water rather than hard tap water, and descale on a sensible schedule to protect the heat exchanger.
