Description

Self-Contained, Stovetop Espresso

9Barista Mk.2 Standard — No Pump, Induction Heated

A genuinely different approach to espresso, the 9Barista uses internal pressure generated on your induction hob rather than an electric pump — self-contained, portable, and free of the plastic components found in earlier versions.

The Mk.2 brings a stainless steel heat exchanger (up from brass), fully machined EcoBrass and stainless steel castings for a precision finish, and a ceramic thermal break in place of the original silicon. A 50% larger boiler O-ring improves long-term durability, and an anodised aluminium chimney replaces the original plastic component, resulting in a genuinely more heat-resilient and durable machine overall.

  • No Electric Pump
  • Induction Heated
  • Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger
  • Ceramic Thermal Break
  • Standard Variant

Standard vs Pro — what's different

Both Mk.2 variants share the upgraded castings, ceramic thermal break, aluminium chimney and larger boiler O-ring. The Pro variant steps further with a 304 stainless steel basket cap for improved extraction consistency, anodised aluminium handles for better heat resistance, a 53mm IMS precision basket with patented hole perforation, and a naked portafilter with a larger viewing aperture. The Standard variant keeps things simpler with a standard portafilter, standard 53mm basket, silicon basket cap and walnut handles.

No electric pump required

Pressure is generated internally on your induction hob, making this a genuinely self-contained, portable machine.

Stainless steel heat exchanger

Upgraded from brass in the Mk.1, improving durability and heat resilience.

Ceramic thermal break

Replaces the original silicon component for significantly improved heat resistance.

Reduced plastic parts

Almost every component is now metal or a non-plastic material, up from the original Mk.1 design.

What's included (Standard variant)

This machine ships with the standard portafilter, a standard 53mm basket, a silicon basket cap, and wooden handles.

Who it suits

  • Coffee enthusiasts who want a genuinely portable, pump-free espresso solution
  • Anyone with an induction hob genuinely looking for a distinctive alternative to electric machines

Getting the best out of it

Since this machine relies on your induction hob for heat, make sure your cooktop's power settings are dialled in correctly before your first shot — too much heat too quickly can genuinely affect extraction. Pair it with a grinder from our home coffee grinders collection that suits fine espresso grinding. Browse our coffee beans range to get started, and see our wider home coffee machines collection if you'd like to compare it against traditional pump-driven options. Our finance options page covers payment plans if useful.
