Ditting — Continuous Operation, Up To 300kg/hour

Ditting 1827 High Volume Industrial Grinder — 180mm Burrs, Three-Phase Motor

An industrial-scale grinder from Ditting, built for continuous-operation, high-volume pre-ground coffee production — 180mm burrs, a powerful three-phase motor, and throughput up to 300kg per hour depending on burr type and grind fineness.

The 1827 High Volume is built for roasteries and medium-to-large coffee production operations that need genuinely continuous, sustained grinding output rather than intermittent café-scale use. High-precision stepless adjustment gives excellent repeatability and full control over grind size, and premium, wear-resistant burrs are custom-selected to match the specific application, whether that's medium grind, espresso, or Turkish fine. The powerful three-phase motor includes surface cooling and high starting torque, purpose-built for continuous operation rather than the stop-start cycle of a smaller shop grinder.

Two additional fans cool the motor, alongside motor and grinder casing ventilation and overload protection, and service-free, constantly greased bearings reduce ongoing maintenance demands. The grinding chamber is designed for easy access, and the package includes a 200-litre ground material container and a 30kg (70-litre) bean hopper as standard, so the unit is ready for continuous production straight out of the box.

Choosing the right burr material

Fully hardened special steel burrs suit general medium and espresso grinding with a burr life of roughly 25-45 tons before replacement. Hard metal tungsten carbide burrs cost more upfront but deliver a dramatically longer grind life — around 250-450 tons — making them worth considering for genuinely high-throughput operations where burr replacement downtime matters. Special steel for Turkish fine grinding is a dedicated option for that specific grind profile rather than a general-purpose burr.

Frequently asked questions

What's the maximum throughput of the 1827 High Volume?

Up to 300kg per hour for medium grind, depending on the beans used and the chosen degree of fineness, with slightly lower rates for espresso and Turkish grinds.

Which burr material should I choose?

Fully hardened special steel suits general medium and espresso grinding, while hard metal tungsten carbide offers a dramatically longer burr life for genuinely high-throughput operations.

What's included with the grinder?

A 200-litre ground material container and a 30kg (70-litre) bean hopper are both included as standard equipment.

Is this grinder suitable for continuous operation?

Yes — the three-phase motor includes surface cooling and high starting torque specifically for continuous operation rather than intermittent café-scale use.
